Credit Academy (9-12)
Students in science class

Credit Academy provides an opportunity for students to make up missed high school credits in a fun, flexible and alternative way. Teachers provide unique and innovative opportunities for students to grow and learn throughout the summer. There are two options available: FlexCredit Academy or Credit Recovery. (Students must qualify to participate. Please contact your school counselor for more details.)

FlexCredit Academy:
FlexCredit Academy is a flexible learning program developed to allow students to work in small groups with MPS teachers one to two days a week while working a job, participating in a StepUp internship, or spending time with their families. Students work with teachers in a blended learning model where they receive small-group instruction, coupled with individualized coursework, to earn missing credits.

Credit Recovery:
Credit Recovery is a more standard classroom program where students take classes with a skilled teacher to learn core subjects such as English or Algebra. Class sizes are kept small so students can receive individual support and earn missing credits. Students can take up to three courses (.25 credits/course) during each session of Summer Academy for a total of up to 2.25 credits.

Credit Recovery will be held at Edison and South high schools Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 1:35 p.m. during June and July.
  • Session 1: June 21, 2021 - July 2, 2021
  • Session 2: July 6, 2021 - July 15, 2021
  • Session 3: July 19, 2021 - July 29, 2021

A Form 13 and Continuous Learning Plan are required for enrollment.
